The course began with team-building exercises and an evaluation of participants’ expectations and needs. These activities fostered a sense of community, helping participants feel comfortable and open to learning. A walking tour of Puerto de la Cruz further bonded the group as they explored the local culture and environment.The course introduced mindfulness philosophy and key principles, providing a strong foundation for the rest of the week. These sessions highlighted how mindfulness can help reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and create a more empathetic classroom environment. Each day of the course was filled with practical activities that aimed to integrate mindfulness into daily teaching practices. The morning sessions started with mindfulness meditation and reflection exercises, encouraging participants to set their intentions for the day.One of the key focuses was Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), a widely-used approach to managing stress in personal and professional life. Teachers learned how to lead simple relaxation and visualization activities designed to ease students' anxiety and improve focus in the classroom.An outdoor session connected participants with nature through mindful practices. This activity helped them experience how mindfulness can be applied beyond the classroom, fostering a sense of peace and connection with their surroundings. The group engaged in mindful walking and breathing exercises, discovering how nature can be a powerful tool for reducing stress.
