A new week of courses has just passed and we are here to tell you all about it! From the 20th to the 26th of June, four participants came to Bologna to take part in the course about outdoor education, to explore tools, ideas, games and best practices together with practical experience and first-hand knowledge on how to integrate an outdoor approach in formal education. Margarita from Bulgaria, Lenka and Natalia from Czech Republic and Maroš form Slovakia were ready to start their unique experience on Monday, together with the trainer Giulia, after a Sunday spent eating typical food and exploring Bologna. After some activities to get to know each other and having shared their fears, contributions and expectations related to the course, the group was introduced to the concept of outdoor education and got to know its benefits and principles. In the afternoon it was time to practice the theory: the group had to deal with educational space planning and create a map of the hotel garden. On Tuesday the 4 participants got to know a wonderful and very useful app for treasure hunts in the city. They had the chance to test it in first person in the city centre: it was a nice tour of Bologna integrated with games and quizzes of every kind! Back in class they were asked to create a “bound” tailored for their city. The day concluded itself with a walking tour of the churches of Bologna, the two towers and a tasty dish of local Pizza. Wednesday morning was all about non formal education: the group learned about this approach and had the possibility of implementing activities to better explore the method. The afternoon was dedicated to trips to nearby cities: Ferrara, Rimini and Florence! Thursday: time for a trip to Villa Spada! A nice and relaxing city park which was the best setting to implement activities in the nature: the group not only had the chance to enjoy the sun but got to experiment multiple games that they can now replicate with their students: maths, art, creativity and much more, nothing was left behind. The week came to an end of Friday: the first part of the morning was dedicated to giving tips for an outdoor lesson and the rest of the day the teachers had time to build their own lesson, helped by the trainer. Then, they presented their creation to the rest of the group, to share and hear their feedbacks.
"I really enjoyed this course. I feel like I've learnt things which I can implement into my work and I feel very inspired. It was a fun and positive experience, I highly recommend it." - Natalia Another course ended, but we are more than ready for the next experience! |
