Course overview
Nowadays we are witnessing a significant trend towards rethinking the role of assessment in education. Traditional assessment and grading systems are increasingly being blamed for harming students, besides giving no relevant insight into students’ learning outcomes. In recent decades, teachers and education staff have demonstrated a growing interest in the application of formative assessment and feedback management in education, which are nowadays considered to be among the most effective classroom management and instructional strategies.
By taking part in this training course, participants will learn how to effectively and purposefully use assessment and feedback strategies in the classroom with the aim of enhancing teachers’ awareness of students’ understanding while fostering students’ ability to self-check and responsibility towards the learning process.
