THE TOPIC
​Outdoor education is on the rise in Europe and beyond, with a noticeable emerging trend of integrating outdoor learning activities in formal education and bringing the outdoors inside. Not only does outdoor education help students become in tune with their surroundings and gain an appreciation for the natural world, it also plays an important part in bringing what they learn in the classroom into real life through application and observation and highly contributes to their personal and social development.
During this conference, teachers and other education staff will have the opportunity to exchange best practices and experiences concerning skills and tools to lead students in outdoor learning, confront and discuss about exercises and challenges, problem solving games, experiential activities in the nature, on school sites, in local parks as well as in urban settings.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
If you are interested in the topic and would like to attend the conference, you can sign up by completing the form. ​The meeting has a limited number of participants and will be held in English. ​No payment is required in order to attend.

Date and Place
The online conference will take place on Friday, 29th of May from 15.00 to 17.30 (CET) through the platform Google Meet. You will receive an invitation to join the meeting via email by ELA's staff.

The Structure
The conference will be divided in two parts:
- In the first part, participants will have the opportunity to listen to selected speakers from all over Europe presenting their experience and best practices related outdoor education;
- In the second part, participants will be divided in smaller working groups according to their preference, interests, expertice, and curiosity. Each working group will be discussing about a specific topic of outdoor education.
Is there any specific aspect of outdoor education you would like to focus on? Very good, you can propose it  as a topic for the working groups in the enrollment form!

The Participants
In order to encourage exchange between people involved, in this special format of conference participants can choose to take part:
- as contributors by offering their knowldge,
- as rapporteurs by offering to summarize the meetings,
- as participants, by simpy attending the conference.

Contributor

Do you have special knowledge or experience in the topic? 
You can share your best practices during the first part of the conference with a presentation of few minutes by enrolling as contributor. 

Rapporteur

Do you feel like offering a concrete help?
You can participate to the conference as rapporteur by taking notes and preparing a report of the first or second part of the meeting!

THE REPORT

THE 5 CONFERENCES

"Meeting Beyond Borders: 5 Conferences to share best practices between teachers and educational staff across Europe" is a series of five conferences organised by ELA - Erasmus Learning Academy, with speakers and participants from all over Europe. ​The aim of each online meeting is to give the opportunity to share and learn best practices about five topics which are currently trending in the education field​.
